BUDDY, THE CAT, RETURNS AFTER A 5 WEEK ABSENCE!

Boy, were we excited to hear Buddy’s cries on Friday evening as we sat feeding mosquitoes on the deck – the ultimate sacrifice – our arms and legs.   He had been missing since our Memphis wedding trip weekend, 5 weeks earlier – presuming him to be afraid of our 2 dogs.  We think he was just on the other side of our yard over the fence all this time under an Amish workshop/shed for shelter, where he could hide and yet not be seen by people of predators.  He actually called out to us when he heard our voices as we talked.  Lucky went over there (other side of our fence) and coaxed him out from under the shed and brought him back home.  We have spent this week reuniting and establishing his routine of safety in the house, once again.  He is skinny, which Buddy could stand to be, but doesn’t seem much the worse for wear.  No signs of a fight or struggle and awfully glad to be back  home again.  It is just too unbelievable that he made it night after night out there for 5 weeks, but I keep saying, ” God is good.”

Buddy is our oldest of the kitties we have had and the only one left at this time out of the 4 rescues from GA years ago.  We found him at the Post Office in Dunwoody, GA 14 years ago wandering around under cars as a tiny kitten.  He is very sweet and gentle with kids, so I had hoped he would be okay at least until I had grandchildren to meet and play with him.  We are just so very thankful and amazed.

No word on results of the Spect scan from last Friday.  Right now, we believe these results will not be made known to us until at least the end of this week, as the surgeon is oot until Thursday.  Will let you all know when we know something for sure.   Thanks for wanting to know and supporting and praying for us continuously.

Today is a visit from the physical therapist and this afternoon from my dear massage therapist and friend, Denise.  I rest and sleep and eat in between visits from professionals and friends, and now have made a boundary marker of 1 thing  per day instead of 6-8, which was really draining to me, so I am trying hard to give myself a break daily and spend more time with the Lord instead of doing things.  I am at 2 things/day right now, so at least am moving in the right direction, which I feel greatly affects my healing.

Am also trying hard to ‘put the clinic back together’.  Trying hard to remember the systems in place before all of this illness took place.   Our dear friend and volunteer for years, Lanette, will be coming here to the clinic office on Friday, Oct. 12th to learn more about how I manage the clinic, all that gets done before an actual clinic  and help me get the vaccine order ready for our Oct. 23rd start back clinic.  Praise God for willing helpers like Lanette.  With her help, I believe we can “pull it off” on the 23rd.  Thank you, Lanette and ACT.

So, that’s all the news I can think of right now.  Remember, attitude is everything and for sure -

Life is hard, but God is so good,  C for luckyandcarol

What an amazing story of a cat who wouldn’t say no. Just like you. What did Buddy eat all that time… And needed water of course. I suppose you’ll never know. Blessings on you and your healing body tonight.

Hi guys, glad to hear about the cat. Our Static is now almost 20 years old and has survived three moves. She looks rugged but keeps going. She spends her days asleep under a bush! Praying for good news for you Carol and ,as always, thinking of you both. Love, Beth
