WHAT GREAT FAMILY TIME! Oct. 14, 2007

This weekend has been a whirlwind of family activity – but good family activity.  Twelve of us plus 5 pre-school grandchildren were hosted by the great-grandparents at the Vanderbilt Alumni Homecoming luncheon yesterday before the game with Georgia.  Mom likes to do this every year.
J.J. and Kait and the kids came from Raleigh, Scott (my nephew) came from Charlotte with his 2 little ones, my brother, Bob and his wife, Anne, came from Atlanta, and Katie and Brock and Cade and Lucky and I came from here.  Ed and Nell (Nana and Pop to most) were the hosts, and we had a wonderful family reunion with lots of pictures taken by our resident professional photographer, Anne.  We congratulated Nana and Pop on their upcoming 65th wedding anniversary on Nov. 7.  What a great day, way and place to celebrate that!

Since about 1/2 of us went to Vanderbilt (Brock, Nana, Katie – a big fan and supporter and wife of a Vanderbilt grad) and the rest all went to UGA (except me), we were for both teams and everyone was in colors of one team or another.  I wore black and gold and red to cover all bases.  The luncheon was good, and we all talked non-stop.  Then J.J., Kait and the kids and their Mimi (me) came back to our house to watch 3 SEC games at once.  It was a very good day and great family time.

Today we are at home trying to be smarter with our down time, but we slept well last night (after Auburn won) and later this morning.  We have a dinner date with our good friends Wes and Emily for tonight.

Lucky is off school for the next 2 days on a Fall mimi-break, which will help him to have some r & r, plus we are planning to do a couple of projects together while we are both here.  I think I start back chemotherapy this week.  We are awaiting our instructions.  Right now I feel well and rested and strong.  Please continue to pray, as we start this new regimen.  I’ll keep you ‘posted’.

Enough for now.  Thanks so much for caring about us.

Life is hard, but God is good!  luckyandcarol

5 preschool grandchildren?? No medical treatment on the planet can match the rigors of that! :) I pray that you continue to improve on a “north-easterly path” and that the Lord’s grace and love continues to surround you and Lucky. Enjoy the Fall Break with each other!

    Love you,Laura

Sounds like you are surrounded by so much love….wonderful fun time with family. This will also help you heal even though you may be a little tired from all the activity. Please tell Tony Snow how much we enjoyed his writings. Who is he? We need his Bio! What a wonderful writer. God has gifted him…pray he will use this gift often.
Lucky enjoy your time off! We love you both!

I am so happy for your wonderful family reunion. Congratulations to Nana and Pop on their 65th anniversay! That is quite an accomplishment and a great example for your family.
I enjoyed catching up last Wed. Let me know if I can take you to an appointment or pick up the clothes you ordered.
