UPDATE ON WEDNESDAY, OCT. 17

I have enjoyed 2 days of rest and reflection after the wonderful weekend.  The beginning of the week (Monday) also brought the beginning of a 3rd (new) chemo regimen.  It has gone well, praise God!  Tomorrow and Friday will complete this regimen of 250 mg per day of Temodar for 5 days, then I get stay off (rest from) them for 23 days completing the month.  Then, I suppose, it will start all over again.  I am so very grateful for zero side effects thus far.  Only God -

Also, tomorrow marks having dropped a little down for 1 week (2 mg/day down) from the large steroid doses I have been taking since mid-May.   I know in another week, at this pace, I will notice a huge difference.  Right now, the difference is only slight, but at least that is headed in the right direction anyway.   I am truly grateful, though, for the work that they have done in reducing the inflamation in the brain, so I will become more thankful about that.

Our Christmas music and instructions for a wonderful concert at church will begin tonight.  We really need and want to go and be a part, so that is tonight (Wednesday).  Also, in the summer I had bought Symphony tickets to 6 classical concerts, and our first one comes up Friday night.  Also, our good friends, Joanne and Dan Miller, are hosting a cook-out Saturday night where their son, Jared, will talk to all of us about his work in Rwanda with women and children.  We don’t want to miss that, so it will be a good, busy weekend again.  We are just so blessed with many friends and opportunities.  I am trying to be smart, though, and plan to rest and do not much in between these wonderful opportunities.

My at- home physical therapy is working out well!  Sharon and I are about the same age.  She is very prompt, kind and strict on me.  We are progressing through strengthening exercises twice per week.  She comes on Tuesday and Thursday.  Also, my very good friend, Denise, comes to do therapeutic massage usually once each week.  This is especially good, since now I am back on chemo.  Today is the day she comes!  Am I excited????

Having cancer and taking ownership of that is teaching me many things.  . . . . . . . . new awarenesses, new appreciations, new outlooks, new understandings.  Yes, I do still have quite a long way to go, but God isn’t finished with me yet either!  I am confident that He will keep showing and teaching me as long as I am willing to be still and listen to His voice.

Have a blessed day in the LORD yourself!

Life is hard, but  God . . . . . . . . . .  .
