Well, the glad news is that our Charleston trip was just wonderful. Our very good friends, Beth and Howard Martin, couldn’t have done more for us. They did and did for us, as we ate, went sight seeing all over Charleston (ocean shore, carriage ride, Ft. Sumter) and as we all relaxed in their lovely home and watched movies and football at night – War Eagle! We even visited their church with them on Saturday night. It is just one darn long way out to Charleston from here, but Lucky did a great job driving all that way in lots of rain and traffic, especially through Knoxville on the way back. It is a 9 – 12 hour trip any way you take it, and we were both exhausted upon return but so glad we had gone. Thank you, Beth and Howard, for loving us and for all you did for us. I wlll call you soon.
And the sad news was at an oncologist appointment upon return (this past Monday.) Basically, the doctor told me at this point there is nothing more they can do – my platelet count is still too low to continue chemo or have surgery, and the radiation is all over – they have done everything they can as aggressively as they can. Even though the platelets ARE comimg up (now in the 70’s), that is not good enough for further treatment, so we are just going from MRI to MRI to see what inflamation and growth are still going on in the brain. Next MRI is in 2 weeks (Tuesday, Dec. 11) with a report on it from the doctor on Dec. 13th. I’ll be sure to let you know what we learn.
Please don’t stop praying. We both totally believe in the power of prayer to change our lives and circumstances. So, thank you in advance for that.
Life is hard, but God -
