The LORD provides

There is so much to tell all of you prayer warriors.  Three weeks ago we got the news from the oncologist that the chemo was no longer effective due to the blood clots in Carol’s leg.  The risk of fragmenting the clot was too great to continue.  We began looking for hospice providers.  We found Alive Hospice downtown on Patterson St.  Carol was transported there by ambulance for a 7-day evaluation period to determine what level of hospice care was appropriate.  It turns out that she needs 24 hour care in a medical setting.  Since Alive Hospice was not “in-network” for our insurance we began looking for nursing homes that could provide the services and be in-network.  The social worker at Alive Hospice kept on negociating with  the insurance and PTL the insurance agreed to consider them in-network and will pay for all of Carol’s costs.  Carol has already established warm relationships with the staff there and is very happy with the situation.

CArol can have visitors, but please remember that she sleeps a great deal of the time.  The progression of her desease is such that some days she is alert and quite strong and then some days she is very weak and disoriented.  You can call her room at 963-4794.  The facility is located at  Patterson St. DIRECTIONS:  I-65 to I-40 W;  Exit at Charlotte Ave. exit;  go to Charlotte and turn left; go to 18th Street and turn left;  go 1 block and turn left on Patterson.  The facility is on the left in the middle of the block.
